GTG! - REVEALED BELOW
I just had a bunch of Morgans in-slab True-View'd. This 1880 Morgan VAM-10 (attributed on holder) strikes me as being under graded due to lack of contact marks, but there is a significant gash on the Eagle's legs. What do you all think it should be graded? I will reveal after a day or so.

Where do you see wear?

All pictures are hard to grade by. No matter how good. I will guess 63.

Hair over Liberty’s ear, slight wear on eagle’s breast feathers, scuffing on Liberty’s cheek and extending into the field in front of her neck/face, overall dull lusterless appearance over the entire coin.
The subtle golden toning is quite nice. It’s a great ~$50-$75 coin but I wouldn’t stretch for it.
Looks like a solid 63 to me.

Wear or week strike, Liberty's hair and eagles breast feathers are smooth appearing.
My guess is MS63 is what it came back graded as. Usually at MS64 you start seeing clean or cleaner fields.

✓ Morgan Dollar GSA Hoard (1878 – 1891)
63
The 1880 P is often seen with a soft strike, I'll guess that PCGS said MS64 due to the clean fields. Would need more luster than I'm seeing in the photo (or color) to be graded gem or better.

REVEAL: This coin is MS-63.
Thanks for the feedback above. I was starting to think it would be a candidate for 64 but your guys are right. With better luster it might make 64 but as-is, 63 is probably accurate.

The soft strike makes it appear less than MS... Would - or should - be more obvious in hand...Cheers, RickO
