That '23-S in AU58 is a tough coin! I've been waiting for a '21-P Mercury in the same grade, one that's lustrous, unspotted, and doesn't look like it's been dipped.

It's easy enough to find most coins in most grades. The hard part can be finding attractive coins that fit the description.
One coin?? There are so many.... Long ago, I realized there will always be one more - or many more - coins I want. So now I just go happily along my collecting path, and acquire what appeals to me, when opportunity arises. Cheers, RickO

Finding it in a particular grade can be tougher. There are more than 77 graded in P63. Also in P55 there are a good amount.
And little doubt a number of them are crack outs. And the collector base for WLHs is enormous.
That said, the ‘20D is definitely tougher, but less famous than the ‘23S. Fox discussed the scarcity of the ‘23S at length in his tome, which certainly drove it’s popularity.
My own is a P55, which has been in the bank sdb for many years. I’ve owned two nicer raw coins, that the profit motive drove me to flip both of them rather than submitting and keeping either for my personal set.

S-218 Draped Bust Large Cent. It has eluded me because of the cost.

Is it the price holding you back. It doesn't seem that it would be tough to find.

You talk about the 23-S Walker, but the 23-S Lincoln is no easy coin either. At least if you want one that isn’t ugly as sin.
