Older strike through or newer pmd? 1946 Nickel

Pulled this from a roll this morning.
I'm always willing to put myself out there for the learning sooo....
I'm noticing no apparent damage whatsoever to the opposite side of the coin where the (maybe) strike through is located.
I'm being thrown off by how shiny the apparent strike through is compared to the rest of the nickel.
No upturned metal at the edge of the strike through. Initially thought it was a gouge until I louped it.
The strike through area almost looks like little screw driver hits or something under magnification and I was thinking if the coin were laying on something soft while it was taking damage maybe there would be no bulging on the opposite side of the coin...but again, I see no upturned metal.
Thoughts?
Please...

A wandering drill bit.
Agree, you can see the semi circles from whatever was used to grind it.

PMD.... Agree with the consensus here.... Not a high pressure hit, but looks as if something was 'attempted' and abandoned. Cheers, RickO
Didn't even think of that...not much of a tool guy here...obviously.![:p :p](https://forums.collectors.com/resources/emoji/tongue.png)
I do have a screwdriver that sometimes I use as a hammer
And that is why I love this place.
Thanks everyone.
