I don't think that is true.
The record price for US Coins was only at $10m until 2021 when the 1933 $20 sold for $18,872,250.
PCGS Auction Prices Realized shows the auction record for bust halves is $763,750, for an 1838-O.

I suppose it is possible a private transaction might have occurred for $18m, but it's extremely unlikely.
