Is this a reverse of 79 on this 78 Carson City Morgan?

I know the coin has some wear, but unless I am mistaken the eagle breast on the reverse seems raised? Is this a reverse of 79 on this 78 CC?

Looks like it might be fake.

Definitely a fake. The large letter mintmark wasn't used until the later dates.

Definitely not a US Mint product. It also has the wrong style CC that was not used in 1878 (but was in subsequent years).
It probably isn't even made of real silver. The Chinese have a way of producing cheap "pot metal" that looks a little like old silver.
Yep, fake.
Yep... a fake one... but still up with 8 bids. Cheers, RickO
Uses the common fake CC reverse...
Listing was pulled.
Damn right scary buying anything these days, especially raw. Really have to do the research and be skeptical when approaching each coin.
Buy only from reputable dealers or auctions houses that guarantee authenticity and a return policy. Even then do the research.
