I took a chance 1937 D 3 leg Buffalo

VetterVetter Posts: 877 ✭✭✭✭✭

A 1937 D 3 leg popped up on eBay from a seller that does not specialize in coins. Asking price of $550 or best offer. The pictures made the coin look very dark but it was in an old ANACS slab so I offered $500 which was accepted. The coin came today. Needless to say I’m happy with how it really looks.

Coin in hand picture.

    Well done
The seller should have taken better pics, he might have gotten more money. Like you mentioned, they don't sell coins so lack of experence cost him

Even though it was straight graded VF30, I could never have pulled the trigger with seller pictures like that. Gutsy move, congrats!! 👍🏻

Buying coins off eBay from sellers who normally don’t deal coins can be very rewarding.

The obverse of your coin is one of the better detailed versions than normally show up for a 3-Legger, IMHOP.

    You won a nice coin.

Well done!!... You should buy lottery tickets.... I would never have taken a chance based on the sellers pictures, however, I can understand the gamble. Congratulations on the win... Cheers, RickO
