GTG: Clad Kennedy and Ike

Two big hints:
First, they're in problem-free/graded holders.
Second, neither is Uncirculated.

I'll have the slab shots later this afternoon.

IKE:

Kennedy: details environmental damage / corrosion
    Ike: details damaged rim ding

I really don’t have much experience with either series as circulated coins. I’ll guess VF (30 ish?) and AU (probably a 50 shot 53).

The Ike could be anywhere from AU58 to MS67. No logic nor consistency from our hosts with Ike grading.

Not surprised at the Ike grade, but the Kennedy grade seems a tad low... Cheers, RickO

@braddick Was there a reason you chose the Kennedy for gold shield service? I can see the Ike for an Everyman's Set but the Kennedy has me stumped.

You took the guessing out. My guess is "why ? ". I mean, you're not typically submitting for mid-range honors, Mr B., AU and VF aren't your style :). Or was this just an exercise/ invitation to discuss ?

I think the Kennedy looks like a VG , probably because of the late die state. That's a question, too  Eisenhower was too easy. I liked the guess. AU 58 - MS 67. :joy:

Did a quick photo grade search for comparisons. :).

You clever fellow . Answers my real question.

I picked these two off of eBay (from the same seller).
The Kennedy is a pop one and single digit pops up to XF.
I liked the "look" and the cost was cheaper than if I had found one and submitted it myself (even economy).

That is a bit comical as PCGS couldn't come up with a copper-nickel example in 02?
The 1967 shown is a 40% silver planchet, of course.

@braddick a Box of 20 Pop 1 would be an interesting exercise...one caveat..when that 1 changes to Pop 2 I guess you just start a Pop 2 Box of 20.

Or purchase the second "pop 1" and break it out, sending that insert to PCGS to be removed from the pops.
    :p
