DLRC This is strange

I don't do much with these guys, but curious why their site would be under construction in the middle of the day. Are they doing a reboot with a new website , been hacked, or?

Could be as simple as adding new web pages or redesigning existing pages, upgrading software or adding new features, or server upgrade for better speed and/or capacity. Should all be good stuff.

I quit facebook a long time ago; what are the cliff notes?

LOL. That link goes to a construction company with the same name not the coin and auction company.

I emailed them earlier and and Matthew Kavalek replied, "...we're migrating all our data and processes to our new website. We expect to be up and running tomorrow, though, with a brand-new updated website. I invite you to check it out in the near future and let me know what you think, thank you!"

They've always been real responsive and friendly, and their website is among the better ones I surf. Big images, helpful metadata (like their star rating and degree of toning metric). The one thing I asked for a few years ago was, ability to save my own notes to self about individual coins. Maybe I'll get my wish!

We have to be suspicious. Look at the environment we collectors have to live in (not to mention the other crazy things going on around us).

They've been posting on IG for at least a week that they have a new site coming.

When WOULD you want to upgrade? On the weekend when people have to come in? Or prime shift when everyone is available if there are issues? It's not like they're going to stop everything if the site is down a half a day.

Just a discussion; I don't see any complaints from me or anyone else. Just enjoying being suspicious.

Up now. There's a nice little improvement I noticed. Used to be when you set filters for looking at inventory, one of the choices was for "Grading Service", The choices were "PCGS/NGC/CAC" and one or two others. If you chose "CAC", you got both PCGS and NGC coins in the results. If you chose "PCGS", you got both stickered and unstickered coins in the results. Now there's a Grading service choice, and in another filter choice called "CAC". The choices are YES and NO. So, now you can set the filters to show only PCGS CAC coins.

Be aware that as an existing member, you have a small hoop to jump through.

You have to "register" and they match the account details and send you a password (re)set email before you can use the site. It's not a big deal, but the email may land in your spam folder!

Under the covers and in some places right out in your face it looks like they've moved to a hosted site and some of the URLs are not davidlawrence.com anymore. I had to update my password vault to allow both.

"The new and improved www.davidlawrence.com is launched and ready!" - can't get any clearer than that EH?

Ah, I was bummed... the "My DLRC" section is gone, and the "Watch" function has been removed. I emailed them with my sad story. I was hoping that they'd add "Notes to self" on a per-coin basis to the "watch" function but that didn't happen.

I guess they didn't know if everything was going to be done so there is no Sunday night auction this week
Site looks good as far as I went, we'll see

I signed in to the DLRC site. Although a record of all my purchases are found under legacy, the pictures of the coins that I purchased are no longer there.

This is almost as epic as my Walmart turning people away at the door a few weeks ago because of a system failure at point of sale. They were temporarily unable to take card or cash from customers for merchandise, in other words. It seems Walmart got rid of their old-fashioned, not-computer-dependent cash registers long ago. I was shocked and aghast at this development but was hungry for food so went to another store for my groceries on that historic day.

If they were aiming for publicity, they should have changed the temporary home page to a large blinking CAC sticker while the site was under construction. 😈
