Hi, what do you think of this 1873-CC trade dollar? I know it may have been cleaned sometime in the past. Do you think it is genuine? Has it been repaired or doctored in any way? Grade? Value? I would like your opinion please. It is in a "National Numismatic Ceritification" holder graded VF-35 (so consider it to be raw). I purchased this coin many years ago.

The overall color and originality looks good, especially the reverse.
The one odd thing, however, is that the obverse seems to have unusual wear compared to the reverse.
I suspect that maybe the coin was bent (convex obverse, concave reverse) and circulated that way for some time.
Dan summed it up. I like it but I have never seen wear like on the obverse.
Looks authentic... Do not like the terminal tarnish.... As noted above, strange obverse wear, check if the coin has a bit of a bend as @dcarr suggested. Cheers, RickO
