1.999 Lincoln cent???

I have this coin, actually a 1999 Lincoln ceñt. But instead of 1999 being the date the coin actually reads 1.999 Im looking for some idea of value as well as. Best place to have it graded. I have searched online for another one like it, but I've been unsuccesful.comment welcome??

    Closer pics of the coin are needed, but it really just looks like a plating bubble. Plating bubbles add no value to the coin, however it is kind o interesting.

  • Thanks I'm not completely familiar with a plating bubble . But I can tell you that it is very solid and looks to be raised or imprinted by the die! I will try to get clear pics .

    It's either a plating bubble or a die chip. In either case, it has very little value other than as a curiosity.

    Copper plating bubbles on cents have been common since the mint started using copper plated zinc planchets in 1982. Spend it or toss it onto a Walmart parking lot so we can discuss this coin again in a few days. ;)

    @SeattlePitt ... Welcome aboard. We need better pictures to conclusively determine the issue. That being said, either a plating bubble or die chip are the likely answer. No significant numismatic premium for that. You could take a rose thorn and poke it, if a plating bubble, it will break, if a die chip, it will be solid. Cheers, RickO
