Yes, that is a no fg variety. Looks like AU55 or AU58

I have no idea if this it the one or not, does have a very slight remnant of the G as you know. I do not know the diagnostics.... of the variety. Regardless.... a neat roll find and keeper!

The "FG" initials are to the left of the drawn circle in the normal case.
I found one of the no FG varieties in an inherited roll.
I don't believe all the initials are all in the same exact spot.

They should be. They were on the hub.
So you're saying the hub places the initials on the working dies in the same exact spot?

It's probably the No FG variety, as the overall look of the reverse tends to suggest it.
The reverse on no FG coins is weakly struck as compared to the normal one, and that shows on the OP coin.

There has to be no trace of the FG visible or it won't get attributed. Looks like its faintly visible to me.

Should, at least relative to the design elements. When they made new hubs, they may have moved a bit. It's just an imprint. How would design elements move?
IMO that is a no FG.
I agree thats a no FG.

Great find. That coin in AU50 is some cool bucks. From CoinFacts.

That looks like a valid no FG coin.... I do see the surface anomaly referred to above, but I do not think it is a remnant of the initial. JMO... Cheers, RickO
Thanks everyone...well now I have to find out!
PCGS or ANACS?
I was thinking maybe ANACS because of the lower grade...?
