I'm looking for a recent thread. I thought I saw a thread here recently about a mint set listed on eBay with "two cents" in the cellophane wrapper. Did I see it here somewhere or am I crazy?

    No @ifthevamzarockin. I remember that one.

    This set had 2 cents in the one cent slot. Plus, I believe the listing even had a clipped nickel in it.

    I believe it was in that thread that had the picture of the set with 2 cents.

    I do recall another thread not too long ago that a defective mint set on it. No idea what the name of the thread was.

    Okay, I'm officially losing my mind. It was my thread! DAMN, sorry!! That mint set with the two cents in the same slot. The Denver side of that mint set has a clipped nickel in it. Did you guys see that? Was @XpipedreamR the only one that picked up on that?

    I certainly did not see it as I did not read that thread. If the winner of that set is here, let me know if you want to make your money back on half of the set :)

    @seanq-

    So here's the story......I think?!?! Because I'm wrapped around the axle here. I got ten things going on at once. First, to answer your question. I'm the winner of this set........I got lucky.

    I originally saw this set about a week ago and had questions whether or not the cellphone was tampered with. I had not noticed the clipped nickel on the Denver side of the set. Nor was the clip mentioned in the listing. Did the seller notice it?....apparently not! I was watching the auction and it ended without any bidders.

    The listing apparently automatically went back up. I contacted the seller and asked him if he would sell the set for $20 free shipping. He accepted my offer and re-listed it as buy it now. So I grabbed it. I'll post pictures when it arrives..........if it arrives!

    Not very happy with the shipment packaging. Thinking of @logger7 recent thread with the shattered slab, it wouldn't have taken much to completely destroy this set! I guess it is what it is. It did arrive safe and the seller was open and honest with good communications!

    Thanks for reminding us to be extra careful in shipping.

    Ebay standard for many sellers is the difference between selling and not, with a $3.50 plus differential between standard and first class.

    Tom, you are the luckiest person I know. On the other hand, luck is when preparation meets opportunity. Congrats on the set and a good eye.
