If there is one thing I know for sure about NHL hockey, it is that the playoffs are like a different animal. These guys take it to an even higher level of play and desperation.

Agreed but here we are going into game 7 after letting up 7 goals?
Seriously, 7 goals against?
That is an embarrassment across the board, the entire team should be ashamed of themselves
Toronto just beat Tampa Bay in the 1st round. I believe however wins the series between Boston and Florida will play Toronto next. Glad Toronto won they have not won in the 1st round in almost 20 years. Makes me proud as a Canadian!!!

They need to kick into gear otherwise they will be going of vacation early this year.
The Panthers have looked like they want it more. Boston caught a huge break with that one Florida shot that hit their crossbar, the score could be 3-1 right now.
I, admittedly, do not follow hockey like I do the other sports. Some of you have said the same. However, we have all been swept up in the Bruins for obvious reasons.
As I mentioned previously, I travelled up to Massachusetts from Texas in March. I don't get there enough, and one of the things I enjoy is embracing the sports culture. This time it was pretty electric, with the Celtics and Bruins playing so well in the regular season.
I had the chance to sit down and watch several Bruins games with different assortments of family members. There was plenty of hope and enthusiasm, but it was hard not to compare it to the Patriots 2007 run, and talk about how come playoff time the team might end up disappointing the fans the same way.
Last night, I visited some online Bruins discussions. I wanted to read through them enough to get a general idea about where , atleast initially, fans were placing blame.
I saw an overwhelming majority talking about the record setting success of the regular season not preparing the team for the playoffs, and not getting the team into the playoffs riding the proper momentum and with the right attitude. These are generalizations, but we all saw the same thing in 2007. That last game of the regular season I remember really hoping they would lose to the Giants, as I saw that as the only way we would win the game that really mattered.
I also saw a decent amount of complaint about the coaching in this series, particularly adjustments or lack there of starting in game 5.
I wonder where this one stands in the history of great regular-season let downs? I have 3 that really stick out to me: the 16-0 Patriots, the 73 win Warriors a few years ago and this seasons Bruins. The one that hurts the most for me is, of course the 07 Patriots. they were soooooo close to closing it out. I place them at the best of the worst. it took them until the very end of the 4th quarter on a miracle play to lose the game. I put the Dubs just below them. Had Draymond not been acting like a lunatic and gotten himself suspended, I am pretty confident they beat Lebrons Cavs. Both the Pats and the Warriors also made it to their respective "finals" before losing. The Bruins got ousted in the first round by an 8 seed. that has just got to be the worst. right?

This Bruins team is definitely deserving of being associated with the Pats & Warriors on this topic. The only thing I'd say in their defense, compared to NE & GS, the B's didn't have any superstar players at the top of their game like Tom Brady & Steph Curry which probably makes those failures look much worse, imo.
Rough day for Bruins fans but we at least have the Celtics vs Philly tonight in round 2.

2007 is the worst without question !
My thinking was that the B's got ousted in the first round. by an 8 seed.
that 2007 Patriots team cut a hole in my soul like no other sports team has ever or will ever. I LOVED that team. I remember being in disbelief when they lost. to be honest, I still am in disbelief all these years later. I dont think I will ever get over that one.

I knew we were in trouble last week of the regular season 07. I wanted so badly for us to lose to the Giants. We were in an obvious downward trend. We needed the wakeup call. I had zero confidence going into the SB, and it seemed to me that the Giants almost beating us that last week in the regular season was an obvious NFL problem that was too great to face.
11 hurt me more. That's the one. You know the play. You know it!!!! 🤮🤬🏈🤷

And they gave up 6 goals in an earlier playoff game. I’ll never bet on hockey again, all year long they were winning by scores of 4-2, 3-1, 2-0 etc. then they can’t play defense at all?
They lose 12 games all regular season and then lose 4 in the opening series. Pathetic!
Choke artists of the highest quality.

More so the defense than goaltending but still, just gross
