Still learning to grade….. 66. Also see some doubling on the reverse.

I will be shocked if that's not a 67. Near flawless beauty right there!

I'll agree with 67 - nice looking dime.

I have some more to post later once I blot out the cert numbers. There's a few more with the WOW factor.

Is that corrosion on the reverse? Details environmental damage

  • gumby1234gumby1234 Posts: 5,589 ✭✭✭✭✭

@1madman no corrosion. Just a darker spot of toning.

Whatever the grade, the coin looks gorgeous. I’m going to guess MS67, rather than 67+, due to obverse marks to the right of the eye, on the upper cheek and on the lower jaw, as well as reverse marks beneath the top row of lines on the torch and above the I in DIME.

Are you certain that’s toning? It looks like it has depth to it.

MS66+, due to the dark spot an minor hits on the reverse.

However, I would not be surprised at all if it resides in a 67 or 67+ holder.

I saw all the same tics, Mark, and I thought it would hold the coin to 66+ for the beauty factor, it is gorgeous and the tics aren't that noticeable or distracting. JMO

My thinking is that the coin’s technically a 66 and got a minimum of a 1 point grade bump for its color/eye-appeal. I must say, that in this particular GTG exercise, the guesses were in an unusually tight range.

There are no stars in PCGS grading but if it was NGC I think it would definitely have a star.
