Hi guys,
Went to my local bank this morning. Asked for a box of quarters. Well, they did have one.
However, look what they gave me!



All 2023d Bessie Coleman's

Yes, not the P mint but the Denver!
I have a dilemma now. I could flip the whole box to a nearby dealer friend for a quick $100 profit.
Or hunt through the box for maybe another awesome "STRIKE-THROUGH" Like the one I tracked down previously.
The 2023p mint, "Burning Airplane!"

    I know James, but, just think if I were to find the ultimate!
    I sold my P mint "Burning Airplane" for $500 on Ebay. Finding his brother could bring me even MORE than the $500?
    Esp. if the gentleman that bought my P mint Bessie, would want to have both in his collection!

    Strike thrus are unique to each coin. They do not appear more than once, except in rare cases when the obstruction sticks to the die.

    The chances of finding another strike thru like your earlier one are astronomical, and more likely than not, impossible.

    For that reason, I'd take the $100 and run.

    Yes, you are exactly correct in your assumption. However, when I speak of finding another Strike Through. I'm NOT saying in the exact location. Similar to the 2021, "Burning Building" Strike Through. They have S.T.'s in different areas of the building but still noted for the "Burning Building."

    dang I did not mention the obvious option - look through the 2000 quarters for the 100 best and submit them for bulk grading. A MS68 or MS69 would pay for everything.

    If the box was all Philadelphia coins, I would say go through it. Good chance you'll find something.

    The quality at Philadelphia lately has been pretty bad.
