Wow, you really find some really beautiful large cents! Very solid strike, and just a touch of circulation wear.
AU58. Probably CAC as well. Keep 'em coming sir!
The coin appears to have more than just a trace of wear in multiple places. Among them, are Liberty's chin, jaw, neck, the area above the first three digits of the date and her hair, as well as on most of the wreath on the reverse. I'd be very surprised if the coin graded higher than AU55 and not at all surprised if it graded lower.

They are tough to call sometimes. I believe that the eye pleasing circ-cam look and strong strike would put it high AU.
I know many would prefer a RB or RD coin in MS, but personally, I really like this type of smooth circulated cameo look.

Circ-cam look and strike shouldn't raise the grade of a circulated coin.

This coin was one of two I submitted. The other graded AU58 despite having previously been in an NGC MS62 BN holder (but cracked out by the previous owner to put in a 7070 album). But this one had much better eye appeal than that AU58, albeit not as high a grade. So I kept the lower graded of the pair.
Well, I was WAY off on that one! XF40?? I think it's a bit under-graded, although I can see several hits on the neck area that probably warranted the XF grade. I've seen a great number of AU's that looked far worse. Early copper is tough to grade, at least for me, but I just don't see this as an XF coin. I own a few and none look nearly this good. @lordmarcovan has a fantastic eye for early copper and other series as well!
Here is mine, also XF40 for comparison...

XF40 seems right to me. No luster at all so AU is out of the question and the wear pattern and number of hits are consistent with the grade. 1853 is the most common high grade LC..curious why you sent this one in to be slabbed. It is as nice album coin.

It was one of those “had a voucher to burn” situations.

Very nice large cent LordM.... I would agree with high AU... Cheers, RickO
The TruView images make it look like an AU-Details coins to me.
But I'm sure it's nicer in hand and straight graded.

I am curious about the neck area on Liberty…is that corrosion/ pitting?

I’d have guessed 45-50 on this one, myself.
I do think maybe they netted it down to 40 over that roughness on Liberty’s neck, maybe.
Agree.
Neat coin. I'd have guessed it had been lacquered sometime in the distant past.
