3 hours today going thru moms coin hoard.

Had a nice Easter dinner at moms house and then she brought out her coin hoard for me to look thru. Didn't get to all of it.
She has twenty 40 percent halves, a decent size 90 percent silver pile mostly dimes but some quarters and halves and even a common date Morgan well worn.

There was 2 Barber quarters worth about 20 bucks each an AU WLH and a nice AU58 1922 Peace dollar as well.

Then a ton of wheat cents. Nothing special among them.

I filled a can with about $300 face value in coins for her to spend or put in the Coinstar.

Next visit to moms house I will try to tackle the rest.

She's a happy camper although nothing to make her rich.

I usually find a similar mix whenever I look through anyone's accumulations.

@gumby1234... That was an interesting and fun exercise... and some nice coins found as well. Plus, your Mom has some spending change too... Good luck on the next session. Cheers, RickO

“I filled a can with about $300 face value in coins for her to spend or put in the Coinstar.”

Did you mean the wheat cents or were these other items ?

If wheat, I thought those were saleable to local shops at 2 or 3 cents each. They also make good giveaways to kids at local coin shows (always asking parents first, of course).

@dhikewhitney It was other coins. The wheats she wants to keep even thou there is nothing special in there.
