Please can you help me for the grade?

Hi In my opinion it is 64 to 65 the both coins. What it is your opinion? I want to be as more exact is possible. I want to sell those two an be honest with the buyer. Thanks

Not the best photos in the word, I know.

Is not slab, Me I have my own slabs and when I manipulate a coin I just put in the inner.

Best to put raw and uncertified on them and let the buyer determine the grade and whether the price you're asking is fair.

They both look nice. Especially the noses. Most St Gaudens look like Ms Librrty has a broken nose. Wish I could afford one of those. Right now money is tight.

For best results, as suggested by @MFeld, submit them first, then offer for sale. Cheers, RickO

There is a lot of range in MS64 and MS65 Saints, check out the Coinfacts images under the date. Luster, marks, strike, eye appeal, grade senstive issues, hairlines can be a killer.

On a percentage-basis, I see very few Saints whose grades are affected by hairlines. Bag-marks, contact marks and stacking friction are far more likely to negatively impact the grade.

Ah, OK. Yes I agree with your cleaver suggestions. Thanks.

To be short is like this. Always if I need something for coins, I will finance with some coins. So I need a new photo system, so I finance with some coins. Heritage offer me 2.2 K for each, me I think 2.4 K each ... So it is as this, the profit is here, back in 2015 costed me 900 each on a small hoard of 40 coins. 39 coins are in collection and only 3 not for collection.

    Thanks

  • Grading is my main interest in numismatics. This may be long-winded, but the only thing I wanted to chime in and say is that I believe it is impossible to determine a coin’s grade through pictures because of the process.

People talk about how AI should be used to grade coins for consistency. How can a computer compute how beautiful the toning is on a coin? Or if it’s been cleaned? Or if a contact mark is detracting?

    Anyway…

To me, posting a picture and asking for a grade is like posting a picture of a meal and asking if it tastes good. It might look good, but both are experiences needed to be had in person.

Just my thoughts though! Nice coins!

I believe your ask price is appropriate for raw Saints, but as others pointed out above, it would be a huge benefit to you to send them for grading, and on Saints, I would most definitely get TV images made and put them in Gold Shield slabs. This would make them very attractive to prospective buyers.

Beautiful coins - the bottom one is better imo. 64ish easy for both.
I would submit them for grading f you want the best price - otherwise, accept that they buyer has to “buy in” on the risk it could be cleaned or whatever - so you’re selling it at a lower grade. For some dates, this is acceptable, for some dates - like these - it might be worth it to have them graded.

I agree with the statement. I ask just for opinion or point of view. I know it is relative as it is when I receive partial Reverse Quarters to certify to X or Y what Type it is and approximative grade.

Me I am not familiar with those coins, I accumulate as investment for long term and those coins are the only one uncertified. I certified 30 first here in Canada and all come back MS-63 (standard for those coins here par rapport of the 1912-1914 Canadian 5 and 10 $. I payed re-certify with PG and NG and the worst was an MS-64+. So this it is the story.

I THANKS to all who give me very good advice for those coins, and I will submit to PG at the end of the month. I will ask a good friend and a very well know by all to submit for me due to the fact that this year I will comeback in State.

Thanks again, if you have questions about Quarters 1932 to 1999, ask free before the book will be print (in the memory and veneration to my mentor HERB)

Have them graded unless you are in a hurry to sell. They look like 64-65 coins.

Yes I will grad them. I am not in hurry to sell them. I can sell others as I post here for sell, and just to cover expense for a new photo system. I use something for coins, so I finance with coins. this it is my philosophy: one hand wash the other hand.

Great coins, I would think MS63 for the 1925, and MS64 or MS64+ on the 1924.

I'd be comfortable paying 64 money.
...but since they're raw, let's haggle over price.

Without better photos we can't really give you reliable grades. And if you are selling remotely, you will either need great pictures or to just get them graded. Otherwise you'll have to just discount them since the buyer won't be able to accurately grade them either.
