Just got back from the claim.
What's the best way to break this conglomeration down in the field without water?
We moved 2x the material today in about four hours as we did more sampling of layers.
Last time out we got 0.347g from 5 five gallon buckets through the trommel screened down to 1/4" mesh and drywasher.
If my math is close that's good ground.

What's the total weight you moved to get 0.347 grams? Just curious.
Just a guestimate 250/300 pounds screened material...dirt and rocks.
Can't really go by weight?
Maybe a quarter of a yard.
Hat's off to your work sir. You are one dedicated prospector!

Thanks goldminer.
I had forgotten about those hand crushers.
I love the marketing strategy of Etsy

I'll check them out, maybe make something that slides into the receiver hitch on the jeep.
We're pounding the material through a trommel but it takes a second run to get the clumps broken down.
It's all labor intensive by hand.
We put a bucket at the end to catch and rerun for a second time.
Space is limited as we pack everything in the jeep, had thought about making something from scrap metal pieces and leaving it on site.
@rte592 ... Tough work, but good exercise. Hope you hit a vein...Looks like the Superstitions in AZ.... Cheers, RickO
