I was searching one night on ebay for exonumia and spotted this little guy! I can't find any info on it but I'm assuming its a George Soley piece struck at the Philadelphia expo. The die engraving on the bell is a little sloppy but adds character. Looks like brass to me and smaller than a half dime. Not sure what the "1" on the reverse represent though.

This should be the size of a gold dollar at 13mm which makes it the size of Soley's medalettes, but the style is much cruder than typically seen on his pieces. As such, it doesn't jump out at me to be one of his pieces, but obviously made to be holed and likely worn on a pinstick.
I've seen this mentioned in gilt, brass, and copper. I don't have one but Benjamin Fauver had one in brass.
This was reported as early as 1878 for the September Bangs & Co. sale, cataloged by Ed Cogan.
