Review or Not to Review?

The reason I posed my earlier question is because I am thinking of sending in the Rose card for review. Is it worth $200 in fees and shipping? Or am I throwing good money after bad? Thanks for all opinions.

Mike,
That card is quite beautiful; not that I should be surprised with your eye for cards. Looks like bumptious goodness to me.
Unrelated topic? I am currently working on a trade for a flying DeLorean so I can take all my cards, crack them out and get them graded back in 2003.
Happy Opening Day, CU!
GO YANKEES!!!

I agree that it is a beauty! Nowadays, I don't think it will bump to a 7 due to the top left corner (and I am not sure if PSA is even giving out many half-grades anymore?). The color, registration, and centering are terrific and certainly worthy of the half-grade bump. Just my humble opinion. Good luck! I will be interested to hear how it turns out.
Centering is exceptional for the issue…I would roll the dice and have it reviewed. I think it could possibly bump to a 6.5…
Both front top corners are rough. I think the 6 grade is a good fair grade. If you send it in they might bump you down to a 5.
Besutiful card!
By what I can see on my phone, that card is a 7.
PSA kills cards with dark borders and the best I think you can do is a 6.5.
It really depends on how bad you "need" a better grade.
If you have extra money and like to gamble, why not try?
If it were my card, I'd keep the $200.
Agreed. If you have time to wait then maybe one you want will hit the market and you won't need to roll the dice. Also, if you wait, possibly another grading special will shave off some of the review cost.
I don't have the eye for vintage yet so I'd be guessing at a grade. I really wish there was a scorecard so we knew why a card graded the way it does.
I have always felt that if a 3PG charges more money to examine a more valuable card, you should get an explanation as to why the card got what it got.
I believe it's graded properly. This would be a higher end 6 of course. Save the $200.
Top 2 corners keep it from a bump. Plus it's Rose. they grade them tough.
I think it is in the correct holder.
i agree with the others that the top corners keep it from grading 7. Still, a very nice card!
Always looking for Mantle cards such as Stahl Meyer, 1954 Dan Dee, 1959 Bazooka, 1960 Post, 1952 Star Cal Decal, 1952 Tip Top Bread Labels, 1953-54 Briggs Meat, and other Topps, Bowman, and oddball Mantles.
Nice card but keep your $200

With its fantastic centering, it should have received at least a 6.5 when originally graded but as many have pointed out PSA has become increasingly stingy with awarding half point grades in recent years. Therefore, my recommendation is to not give PSA your hard-earned $200 for what is very unlikely to yield the desired result. If you ever decide to sell it, potential bidders will clearly see the fantastic centering for the grade and should bid accordingly.
I don't think with that much edge wear I'd risk the downgrade. I can't see that card in a 7 holder; wouldn't buy it in a 7 holder. That said, it's fine where it's at; enjoy it.
Used to working on HOF SS Baseballs--Now just '67 Sox Stickers and anything Boston related.
I would keep it as is. And go out on the town for a nice dinner and movie with the $200.
A dinner and movie are soon forgotten, a 6 1/2 lasts forever. 😁🤑
Depends who you are with.
Doesn't a movie and dinner for one person cost about $200.00 these days?
