"1848 Oregon Trail" Silver Eagle Over-Strike - Windowsill/kraft envelope

I bought it 18 months ago and wanted to add some depth or color to it - as it was a bit too pristine - and placed it on an East facing window in a kraft envelope. Boy, am I surprised!

Just be sure to now move it to a mylar flip as if left in the envelope it will continue to tone and could turn ugly quick.
Too late.
USAF (Ret) 1974 - 1994 - The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries. Remembering RickO, a brother in arms.
I think it looks fantastic and like @Broadstruck said……..put it away into a Mylar flip.

@Eighteen63 ... Do you intend to submit it for grading? You may be disappointed... Good luck. Cheers, RickO
Nah, I know the grade and I know it’s authenticity so there’s no reason - in my opinion - to ensconce it w/in a plastic tomb. I’m in agreement with @Broadstruck & @coinsarefun and have moved it to a flip.

Not really true. That coin, if it straight graded would be worth far more. Of course. It likely won't.
Acknowledging that worth is subjective, I shall take that under advisement.
Meanwhile, I will continue to seek coins designs (as well as toning) that I appreciate.

OP is having fun with his coin - isn’t that the point?
We all get to play play the game how we want - vaultbox, CAC, raw, junk silver, moderns, labels, holders, whatever floats your boat.
I’ve had these from the beginning. Order from DC and they were white. I put them in my coin cabinet whe I reved them.
