    It's one of the several unc encased Indian 1c that shows up fairly often, almost always in red unc similar to the Kolb teddy bear hoard that keeps recycling and the Wehr - Milwaukee horseshoe holder encased cents. Look back over the many exonumia mail bid sales of the 1980s & 1990's and you will see numerous offerings of the Atlanta guano encased. I never heard definitively where the original group surfaced but they have been around for quite a while.

    My understanding is that these were part of a hoard from the family of one of the former owners of the company...70s period perhaps...they were leftovers that were never given away....can't recall specifics as it's been too long since we had one. Can't remember the date on the coin we had but it was similar, maybe '01/'02...and definitely not as nice. We bought it from a guy who dabbled in exonumia and the origin story came from him. Seems plausible enough.
