Big thanks to Deplorable Dan

I received the 1880s Morgan from Dan’s giveaway this weekend and I’m thrilled to own it! This is my very first slabbed coin, have never actually seen one in hand before. Besides being an awesome gift it’s also a teaching tool for a newb like myself. I’ve seen the term cartwheel used here many times and had a vague understanding of it, but I now know exactly what it looks like.
I’ve also seen you guys advise people to obtain a really nice, slabbed coin to help learn about grading and what terms like MS-64 really mean. Looking at this coin drives home the meaning of Mint State to me.

Thank you Dan. I told you a little bit about what’s gone on in my life recently and believe me, your kindness will never be forgotten.
My best wishes to you!

John

Congrats on the nice win! :)

  • I’ll take a couple pics and post them up Dan. They probably won’t be any better than the sellers pics but I’ll give it a shot.

It's nice to see the numismatic enthusiasm, it seems like the coin has gone to a good home. :) DD definitely seems to be good people. Good on ya Dan.
