I received the 1880s Morgan from Dan’s giveaway this weekend and I’m thrilled to own it! This is my very first slabbed coin, have never actually seen one in hand before. Besides being an awesome gift it’s also a teaching tool for a newb like myself. I’ve seen the term cartwheel used here many times and had a vague understanding of it, but I now know exactly what it looks like.
I’ve also seen you guys advise people to obtain a really nice, slabbed coin to help learn about grading and what terms like MS-64 really mean. Looking at this coin drives home the meaning of Mint State to me.
Thank you Dan. I told you a little bit about what’s gone on in my life recently and believe me, your kindness will never be forgotten.
My best wishes to you!
John

First, @DeplorableDan is an awesome Dude. I really enjoy his approach to the hobby and contributions here. The generous gift is just one more level of cool!
Second, your post embodies of the sprit of that giveaway. I am very glad you won, and I hope the coin brings you joy for years to come. Congratulations!
I am a newer collector (started April 2020), and I primarily focus on U.S. Half Cents and Type Coins. Early copper is my favorite.
The Dan abides! He's a good guy.

John, it is my utmost PLEASURE to have been in a position to be able to give some coins like this away. I am thrilled that you were one of the lucky winners, and I couldn't be happier for you. Please allow me to share the sellers photos , because every thread is better with pictures
. I never unpacked the coin and had an opportunity to take my own pics.

I’ll take a couple pics and post them up Dan. They probably won’t be any better than the sellers pics but I’ll give it a shot.
Great post by @JohnThePainter and great form by @DeplorableDan!

Congratulations and WOW, talk about a great coin finding it’s way to you. Fate had a hand in this and did a wonderful job of putting a proper coin with a very deserving collector. May it be the first of many slabbed coins you own.
Now, if you would please PM me your mailing address and what denomination of modern coin you are collecting or would like to have a nicely graded example of and allow me to sweeten the experience for you. It would be an honor to present you with your next slabbed pcgs example. Jzyskowski1
