Is this an error? 1889 morgan

I think this is an error but not sure what it is. This 1889 morgan doesn’t match up exactly to any pictures when I looked on vam world.
I hope the pictures are good enough for someone to give me an opinion.

Perryhall: originally in hand the mark looks raised like extra material was added. Based on your post i used stronger magnification and rotated the coin and now I think your right it might just be a bad scratch.

I picked up over 400 Morgan’s the last couple of weeks and maybe my old eyes are playing some tricks on me. 🙂
I agree with @PerryHall and the scratch determination... I magnified it and raised metal and depression.... Cheers, RickO
