Guess the grade

I know it's kind of dumb because it's a modern, but there's a reason I'm asking...care to guess?

It came back as a PR60DCAM! ouch

These types of photos won’t show anything in the fields, but based on how you worded the post and the nick above the V in FIVE, I’ll guess it’s graded 70 but shouldn’t be.

Exactly what I was thinking. ;)

I'll go out on a limb. Hard to tell with the odd shape of the coin but maybe there is some cabinet friction near the stitching and a little nick above the edge of both lower stitching? I'll go 66.

PF69 would be my guess. I have never seen this particular coin before.

PR70 DCAM. I'm definitely not an expert, just my wild guess since it seems to be flawless.

It came back as a PR60DCAM. I didn't even know that grade was possible...

    Agree with the PR69DCAM

I suppose it could also be a SP69 DCAM

I have one of these coins - mine is silver, this one looks good but I think it’s silver too.

Where’s that guy at who always says “is this a mechanical error”?

I had a similar experience where pcgs graded one of my proof platinum eagles proof60dcam. I called them up hoping the person accidentally put a 6 instead of a 7 on the grade. They “fixed” the grade by regrading it a 69DCAM. Not what I was hoping for.

Up to you if you want them to reholder it as a 69, or leave it as a 60. Worth about the same.

Well, looks like a 66 is $550 and a 69 is $635...not that it matters right now since I'm not selling it. I was just really surprised...should have it back in hand later today to see.

And after getting the coin in hand, I really don't see anything wrong with it...I'm no grader by any means but I would think that whatever was responsible for a 60 should be fairly obvious

I don’t see anything that would lead me to believe it’s anything less than a 70.
    Very nice👌

Can you post the cert number so we can see the full size true view?

@Rockdogz... Looks to me as if it should be PR69. Contact customer service. The mark above the V in five likely knocked it down from 70. Cheers, RickO

Thanks. Def not PR60. I would contact customer service as ricko suggested and/or send it in for reconsideration. A PR60 should look trashed. This coin is easily 68-69, 67 on a bad day.

60 must be a typo. Looks like a typical PF69

Funny, as I was typing this, I went for the nine and accidentally hit zero that’s probably exactly what happened.

Lol…I was hoping to check the price guide and see my one and only PR60 but alas I think - like others have said - it was probably an error, either PR70 or PR69. I will contact customer support, thanks!

    I would do a guarantee resubmission. https://www.pcgs.com/servicesandfees
You pay $25 but when they re-evaluate it if they messed up you don't pay anything.

They definitely messed up. I am sure it was supposed to be PR69. BUT, at this point, it's a Pop 1 coin!

    Wow on the 60DCAM score.
No wait, make that "NO WAY!!"

    When in doubt, don't.

That means nothing unfortunately. CS has been trained to say no, no, no whether asked for refunds/rebates due to poor/slow service or grading issues. To them, you are just another person complaining about a bad grade result and, unless you make a stink or come out of pocket ahead of time, the grade is ALWAYS correct. MEs only exist for date, mm, etc.

Also, the 'nick' above the V is not there on the coin in hand. It must be an artifact of the photo.
