1918/7 S Quarter Diagnostics

Ok, this IMO is not the overdate but to the right of the top loop of the “8” is what looks like something, probably just an artifact. There is no apparent diagonal line through the loop and no dot to the left of lowest star. Agree?

There is a shadow in the lower loop of the 8, but in the wrong place. Is there a die crack from jaw thru braid? I do not feel this is the 18/7. Let us see the photo of the obv/rev.

Definitely not the 1918/7 S overdate.

For mid to later die states, there are a few diagnostics:
1) Die clash to the left and right of Liberty's knees
2) Die chip to the left of the lower right star
In addition, the step for Liberty's left foot (viewer's right) is not well struck or missing.
I have snagged 4 of these over the years using these diagnostics. They all straight graded (F15, F12, VG8, VG8)
