1834 Large Cent NEWP

Is this an example of machine doubling on the forehead, nose, lips, chin and the "IBERTY"?

Some MD indeed!
Type collector, mainly into Seated. -formerly Ownerofawheatiehorde. Good BST transactions with: mirabela, OKCC, MICHAELDIXON, Gerard
Tonedeaf- I really like the look of your 1834 cent. That's exactly how an old, circulated copper should look- not all cleaned and gunk-free and glossy and oiled. Every day they're getting harder and harder to find that way. Preserve it and keep it that way!
Thank you. I enjoy the coin also, and it fits my budget. I do enjoy the look of a more pristine coin, but I can't spend that kind of money on coins very often. I buy what I like and can afford.

Nice Small 8 1834 Classic Head Large Cent. Many on coinfacts with like MD. Hope you are able to grow your collection and sooner than later I hope you are able to buy a book to enable your knowledge for the hobby. Good Luck.

That is something I have learned after joining this forum. I need books. I glean a bit of info here and there online but dedicated books will be more useful. The collecting advise thread is also incredible. Great info as well. I'll get better at selecting coins with time and experience.

Yes indeed…..glad it’s in a good home!
Yep... Machine doubling... I like old cents, and have to discipline myself, or I would be picking them up frequently, without regard to grade etc. Just intriguing old copper coins... Cheers, RickO
Good attitude to have!
And that’s one of the things I like about early copper. I can appreciate my raw low grade pieces just as much as my slabbed mint state coins.
...my only 1834... not the doubled profile for comparison

Admission...I try to buy something from the LCS every time I wander into the store. It's the only shop near me and it's an hour drive on a clear day without too much traffic. That said, you people here have pushed me out of my comfort zone...I need to start shopping online, shop with intention (as in doing my homework and choosing a specific coin before shopping) and having patience. I'll probably be ok, but that's a big change for me.
Better coins will be the reward.
