Went to the store and received this coin in change, I believe it to be the first 1974 S Lincoln Cent I have ever found, due to the oddity of the S mintmark, I would have remembered.

Nice change find... I do check my change, mainly for W quarters (of which I have received none). I do get a couple of wheat cents a month though. Have not got a Merc dime in a year or more. Cheers, RickO
It took me a long time to find a 1974-s cent in circulation (here on the east coast) when I was filling penny boards in the 1980s. I can't imagine there are many of them floating around out there in 2023.
I have been a change viewer for so many years I can't remember. Still have large coffee urns full of pennies and do not remember ever getting a 74S. Interesting, BTW, East coast also.
