****For sale, an 1804 British 5 shilling "dollar." This piece was issued during the Napoleonic Wars on an emergency basis. There was a coin shortage in England because of the war and the inadequate capacity of the venerable, but antiquated Tower of London Mint. The design overstruck on a Spanish Milled dollar.
This coin is NGC graded as an EF-45. The surfaces are a dark grey, and are totally original. This piece has never been dipped. The price is $415.00, which includes shipping.
