Need Large Cent help on repunched date

COINS MAKE CENTSCOINS MAKE CENTS Posts: 1,846 ✭✭✭✭✭

Can't find much information on this repunched date. What exactly do I have here? Is this a common repunch or one that is harder to find? Any help is greatly appreciated.

You have a nice example of the N-4 variety of the small date 1846 Cent. Grellman describes the variety as "Date heavily repunched to left and slightly above." It is an R1 so pretty common but still a great example!

    Good job, @RLSnapper
Here is a photo of NGC's example and a closeup, which you will see matches yours. Nice N-4

@COINS MAKE CENTS... Nice looking RPD coin... and clearly a recognized variety. Your pictures are very good and show the detail nicely. Cheers, RickO
