This is not my coin and not my photos, could this be some type of strike through or partial die cap error. My first thought is just damaged but I am not that knowledgeable with some types or strike through errors. Thanks in advance for any insight.

Too hard to say for sure without seeing it in hand.

I'm addicted to exonumia ... it is numismatic crack!

Give it a soak in acetone - it will probably be gone after a few hour soak.

Not an error expert, I would not have thought glue.

Look like it was mounted on a belt buckle or something, definitely adhesive residue on the reverse.

Incomplete planchets wanted, especially Lincoln Cents & type coins.

Sure looks like glue.... If not, then some sort of PMD. Not a mint error. Cheers, RickO

Thanks for posting. I was curious about this one ATS, too.

I am a newer collector (started April 2020), and I primarily focus on U.S. Half Cents and Type Coins. Early copper is my favorite.

This. Looks like maybe some residual plating adhered to the glue or solder after being pried out of whatever it was previously mounted onto.
