1935 DDO Wheat Penny?

I believe this is a DDO with a slight laminate error but have been told otherwise by a local coin shop in my area. I would like your opinions please!

Looks like MD (machine doubling) with PMD (post mint damage)

A decent looking coin. Not rare or scarce, with MDD.

The local coin shop owner you went to is correct, you do not have a DDO just one of the worthless forms of machine doubling.

The ddo for 1935 is mostly confined to the date area.
    Yours is machine doubling

Have you tried the lincoln cent resource web site? It has good information and lots of photos to learn from.

MD is "flat and shelf-like", which is exactly the way yours looks.

Also, it must match exactly the photos of known DDs.

Machine doubling... and PMD... Agree with the consensus. Cheers, RickO

It has to line up EXACTLY with known examples. True DDs are struck by dies that are doubled. Every coin struck will have identical doubling.

MD is from die wear and movement of the planchet during striking. As a result, it is random.

@ERingus Variety Vista is a good place to check if you think you have found something. Like others above stated your coin must match exactly or it isn't the variety.
