I'd be careful. The low number graded this highly might speak more to the fact that it's common and most would never consider submitting something this common.
If you do what you always did, you get what you always got.

I think it is a BEAUTIFUL coin and one of the nicest IKE's that I have ever seen.
I think the picture is probably nicer than the coin.
The toning is attractive but there are lots of planchet marking around the periphery called "chicken scratches" and more chatter and noise than I'd like to see on a high grade Ike.

Too many issues / problems with the coin. Enough said.
As always, just my 2 cents.

But it has a QA sticker...
Laugh if you want, but I'd trust James picking out an MS68 clad ike for me over just about anyone else. He's also seen it in hand. From TrueViews, it and the 67+ are almost interchangeable, but it looks nicer than the 67s.

I hate planchet marking. The services don't always detract much for it.
To each his own and I'm quite sure someone will find this a welcome addition to his collection, but not I.
Well, based on the images, and the TPG assessment, it seems like a very nice coin. That being said, the current bid - and what is likely to be a much higher final bid - seems way too high. Probably some people looking to pump up a registry set - and have deep pockets. Not this old Sailor.... Cheers, RickO

Only time will tell. It really depends on how many deep pockets are chasing it.

Is the toning suspect?

$30k+? Not in my budget but a stunning example. Not a huge fan of the reverse toning though.
@braddick ... your Eisenhower dollar is beautiful.
::Whoa there::
Not mine!
It is a Trueview of the Ike in the OP.

Too much but not enough.

Messy desk. That’s not why it is funny.

OK, why is it funny?
Sorry if I’m wildly out on a limb, but is this a coin pcgs needs to step in and buy back with their guarantee service?
