Error 1838, 1846 Large Cents??
Hello from cold, snowy New England!
I have had this 1838 cent kicking around for quite some time and I'm wondering what ever happened to Miss Liberty's nose? I couldn't find a variety for 1838 with this feature and I have examined the coin with good light and magnification.
The 1846 cent has just the faintest hint of the 1 in the date visible. Could this be something in the die obscuring the 1, or perhaps a bit of cloth got into the press?
May I ask for the thoughts of you experts out there? Are these true mint errors? My apologies for the less-than-stellar photos. I'm still trying to improve my skills.
Thanks!!

New type coin. 1938 Lord Voldemort obverse. lol. Do not know other than PMD.
1946 was probably a grease filled die incident. Common occurrence if so. Doubt that either are valuable errors, but that's just my opinion

Hello, jesbroken.
I had to go and look up Lord Voldemort and, having found a photo online, I certainly see the resemblance. I kinda' thought that Miss Liberty on the 1838 large cent looked like my grouchy neighbor but I think your comparison is somewhat better. 🤣 I had similar thoughts to yours about the 1846 but the 1838 cent has me scratching my head a bit.
I appreciate your thoughts. Now I know who Lord Voldemort is to boot!
