Gorgeous 1955 S Lincoln cent. Fairly confident it is an RPM. S/S? or S/S/S?
Hello again,
I'm back with yet another question. Came across this very nice 1955 S Lincoln cent, broke out the Eschenbach loupe and took a closer look. I'm fairly confident that it is a repunched mint mark, I'm just not sure which variety. It was really difficult to get good pics with the equipment I currently have (cellphone and a cheap coin microscope from Amazon). I was actually able to see more with my loupe. But I think I captured enough of what I was seeing so that hopefully you guys can help me determine exactly what it is. I know PCGS lists both an S/S and S/S/S variety for this coin. What I was seeing, was what looked like the bottom portion of two S's in the bottom portion of the final mint mark, and then two faint lines, emerging from the top of the mint mark, that look like they could be part of the top portion of the two previous mint marks. What do you see? Any and all help, feedback and education is greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your time,
Kyle

It's clearly not the S/S/S variety, you should see the tops of 2 S's above the mint mark.
You can try to match it up here.
I don't see anything that matches.http://www.varietyvista.com/02a LC RPMs Vol 1/RPMs 1955S.htm

Very good pictures.... It appears to be a die chip in the lower part of the S. No further indication of an RPM. Cheers, RickO

Thank you all for your responses. I'm pretty new to all of this, so I suppose I'm a little excitable. I've learned a lot, but there's still A LOT to learn.
No RPM here.
