Please dont put them back in the wild. Someone will find one and it will turn into a 3 page thread here about how its some undocumented mint error.
Nice. Save them up long enough, and you could cover your washer with damaged cents in a fashion similar to that recent thread showing the Tesla covered in nickels.
I recently made a small repair on a used dryer I bought 3 years ago and ended up pulling a large load of change out. Took two hands to hold it all. Had to be at least $5 total.
Washer manufacturers put coins in there as spacers to keep the drum from wobbling during shipping and operation. They act like ball bearings during operation. It will void the warranty if you remove them. I had to have my coins replaced after just 1 year of use. There was a recall and whirlpool replaced mine under warranty. Something about defective ETSY coins they sourced when their normal supply was low, i dont know. They did let me keep the used coins.
The new coins have been holding up great now for 3+ years.

My washer does it different. Might need to do a type set. I don’t put them in there, the coins just find their way."
The difference is my washer is a front loader.
Wow... Serious damage there.... I have a front loader, and the occasional coin that shows up is in the washing chamber.... Did not know they could 'migrate' to another part of the machine. Will have to check that out. Cheers, RickO

All washer and dryer finds at my house, both coin and currency, go into this little "green" guy.
This piggy has been our repository for washer/dryer finds for at least 18 years.
