Accumulations/collections are always fun to look at for me. This one is from an estate. Family kept a 2 cent piece which I appreciated that they wanted to keep something.
Interesting pieces included a holed 1849 half dime, Hawaii and confederate notes, some coal scrip and some common dollars.
Nothing rare but fun.
I put the notes into holders when I first evaluated the contents. They were folded up pretty good originally.

@DNADave What is that silver colored item shaped like a tapered cone?

I thinks it’s a limestone fossil of coral.

I thought maybe a tooth at first but pretty sure it’s a fossil

I see the reverse of a Carbon Fuel Company cent.

    Yes. R2. Carbon, WVa.

Also an Amigo Coal Company cent. R6

I had both of those so just duplicates.

I hope for bigger and better finds this year. But it’s a start.

Whats the weight of the "fossil" thing? Does it seem heavy. Looks like a lead civil war bullet that was worked over with a knife.

It is a horn coral, very common. Not sure about weight. Maybe an ounce from what it felt like when I chucked out in the driveway. Lol.

    Essentially just a rock.

The 1849 half dime must have had quite a history.

Thank you. Right now it’s at about 520 different pieces. Just scratching the surface of what’s out there.

Agree. I left it on the string. The other day there was thread about do you collect half dimes. This may be just a $3 coin, but it’s in the album now.
