What's going on with this quarter and the item description?

Is this a real quarter that's been messed up by human hands or just a fake?

Low feedback seller that does not know what he has and who cannot write a full sentence, what could go wrong. Actually, I would be worried that this might be a hijacked account, one feedback was recent but the others are older.

That was my first thought, too. I don't know why people waste their money on this kind of stuff (not that that's happened on this one yet). It's kind of amusing though- he wants $5 for shipping on top of the $1,199.00 he's asking for the coin.

If this sells I'm taking a sack of quarters out to my machine shop and start a sanding!

Yep... If that seller gets that $$$$ for PMD, then I will start a new business. I can do much better than that one. :D:D;) Cheers, RickO

For funs and grins the other night, I searched US Coin Errors on fleabay the other night. It's astounding how many parking lot finds are on there.

I used to astounded, but when you see the number of whiskey tango foxtrot types that show up here and on the forum ats with their valuable treasures and absolutely no clue (and no desire to learn) about what they have; well it is no surprise that sites like etsy, FB, and ebay are flooded with this garbage.

Ebay is a swamp of not-special coins being posted as such. Ive been wading thru it for a few weeks now, just looking.

You did the right thing asking here.

I will only buy off ebay if its a coin dealer with thousands of feedback or ill ask here first.
