Feels like a Franklin!!

Feels like a stranger - franklins tower…
When the dead played that combo we called it “feels like a Franklin….”

Speaking of franklins - here’s one I found at a pawn shop and had graded.
I actually thought it would grade higher - I can’t find even the slightest scratch or ding anywhere on the coin. Under magnification it is flawless / not sure why it didn’t grade 69 at least!

Always better to have a 65 that looks like a 69 than the inverse scenario. Once in a while you get shown the light, in the strangest of places if you look at it right.

I am a newer collector (started April 2020), and I primarily focus on U.S. Half Cents and Type Coins. Early copper is my favorite.

That is a very nice Franklin proof.... As has been said here many times, cannot grade proofs from pictures.... In hand, as the graders do, perhaps there are minor hairlines or miniscule tics, or the hazing.... Still a nice coin. Cheers, RickO

Enjoy Franklins...and still love the Dead.
Many shows in my past...a handful in the last few years.

    In another time's forgotten space
Your eyes looked from your mother's face
Wildflower seed on the sand and stone
May the four winds blow you safely home

I'll tell you where the four winds dwell
In Franklin's tower, there hangs a bell
It can ring, turn night to day
It can ring like fire when you lose your way

God save the child that rings that bell
It may have one good ring, baby, you can't tell
One watch by night, one watch by day
If you get confused, listen to the music play

Most proofs have hairlines that are difficult to see. At a 65, when you twirl the coin in the light you should see the hairlines.

I was a huge Garcia fan - have been to over 70 shows - late 80s early 90s … both dead and JGB …

There are things that won't show up in a photograph that could easily knock a coin from 70 to 69. When you're talking lofty grades like 69 and 70 you have to have the coin in hand to accurately grade it.
