It looks like around 1:00 to just about 6:00 was ready to break of the die.
So I'd this how a cud is formed. A piece of the die cracks off forming a cud?
@Watchtower ... A cud would form if the piece of the die breaks off, and another coin was struck... the result would be a lump of blank metal, at the rim, called a cud. Cheers, RickO

I picked it up because I liked it. It's not really something I collect though.
I did do a little research before I bought it and saw that no cuds are known.
It's pretty close I'd say. Do you know if there are any other similar known?

Right now I am using Samsung A13 phone. Sometimes I can get excellent images other times not so good.
I think copper is easier to image than silver. Less reflection.

It is a die crack and also looks like the beginning of a cud.

That would be one giant cud. I wonder if it made it that far or if they pulled the die right around this time.
Great die crack soon to be a cud if not removed. I like it.

The coiner must have caught it and removed the die before it had a chance to become a Cud.
There are no known Cuds from that date, at least not that collectors have.

Nice die crack. There are probably more examples struck from that die out there.
