They use a special coin for the “Coin Toss” in the Super Bowl. The coin has a bust of Teddy Roosevelt on one side, and a bust of Nathan Hale on the other side. Do you know why?
.
.
This way, when they toss the coin, the player has to call “Ted’s or Hale’s” 😂

Here’s the version used a couple of years ago (lol):

I saw some sports expert on TV being interviewed about the Super Bowl and he said that in the last eight Super Bowl games, the team that won the coin toss lost the game. It will be interesting to see if today's game is number nine.

Yeah, but the coin has two "heads". If you call "heads", you can't lose and if you call "tails" you can't win.

But that’s why the ref tells the player calling the coin toss to call “Ted’s or Hale’s”!!!!

Fun fact - the Highland Mint that produces these is about a 10 min drive from my house....and yet I've never been in there, nor own anything that they produce.

This thread got me thinking about the real coin being used for the Superbowl and I Googled it:

The coin used for the toss is made by Highland Mint. The small factory in Melbourne, Florida has been making the Super Bowl coin for the toss since 1994. There is an image of the Lombardi Trophy to signify "heads" and another image representing the current Super Bowl for "tails"

    Predictions?

Mahomes breaks thumb and is out before halftime. Later seen eating a philly cheese steak sandwich.

He better eat and get the heck out of there before the game ends, anyone with a chiefs jersey in Philly today is probably going to be wearing someone else’s cheeseteak, rather than eating it 😂

Yea I overlooked that when I replied to what coinscratch said, but my comment about anyone with a chiefs Jersey in Philly getting a cheesesteak thrown at them today still stands 😂

😂 I think it would be way cooler if they used a gold Indian design on a larger planchet. Considering who’s playing, it would be very fitting to use a coin with this design…

    Definitely post of the day!
