Wonderful coin!!
And great, well-thought-out plan for your Box of 20!!
I am doing a similar project with Seated Dollars...Buying several from each of the 4 decades that they were produced. Trying to get at least 3 mint marks. Also, buying Civil war era, Reconstruction era and at least one proof. I am currently up to 7 examples. So, 3 more and I'll be halfway there.

Nice goal for a collection!
Very nice. I really wish I had put aside some Double Eagles a few years ago when they were cheaper. Congratulations.

Looks like an excellent example of perhaps the most beautiful coin. Thanks for sharing!
Nice addition.
care to share an example? sounds like a awesome project.
thanks! yeah, i wanted to start a set of $20, but figured i would not be able to afford it. then, i decided to trade up coins and just take my time...keep looking for the right pieces and opportunities. i used to have fives, but sold the last two just recently as part of getting this coin. one of the keys to this game is patience, i have learned.
Splendid! I have this one:

Nice addition Steveben.
My Box o' $20 began with a MS63 CAC version...

...the 20 have been paired down to 5 to make room for a different lineup. I still have HR.

@steveben .... WOW!! Now that is an impressive box of 20... Gold is just my favorite.. specifically, big gold.... Look forward to seeing more of your collection. Cheers, RickO
Cool way to collect $20! I once put together a set of Liberties and St. Gaudens from all mints. Eight coins in all. They look great in a Capital Plastics holder.

Stunning, congrats! If I just could have one and only one more coin, this is it.
would love to see a photo if you have one to share
Great coin! I love your idea of a box of 20 20's, and the principle you've outlined for yours. There's something awfully compelling and authoritative about those big old gold pieces. They kind of eclipse everything else in a collection.
@steveben - Unfortunately, no photo at the moment. The set is currently in my SDB. I'll take a photo next time I visit my coins.
