Lamination or PMD?

Raining and bored today. Started looking at some old worn jeffersons sittin in a 2x2 box. I came across this 1947s. Looks like it took a hit to me on Monticello and it has a prominent crack. Would the hit caused this or is it a lamination with a coincidental close hit?
Thanks, Bobby

Lamination.
Lamination.
Now if only I could turn it into an MS67FS, I'd be more excited.

It does appear to be a delamination.... with wear and associated PMD. Cheers, RickO
It's actually both. The reverse has some planchet lamination and the obverse has some heavy nicks that qualify as PMD.

Neeto - usually it's the 35% ag nickles that show lamination.
