The other day someone posted his 1895 S half. So I went looking on EBAY

I'm not certain exactly what is going on with the images, but the dealer is a big-time dealer who handles lots of expensive coins. This much I can tell-

    1) The coin was certified by PCGS as MS66+ with a valid cert number and the coin has a TV image associated with it.

    2) The coin was also certified by NGC as MS67 with a valid cert number and the coin has an HA auction listing with it.

    3) The coin listed as PCGS has a mixture of images that show a different obverse as well as a reverse that does not match the PCGS coin.

My guess is that this seller owns both a PCGS MS66+ and NGC MS67 for this issue and that images were uploaded incorrectly. To confound matters, the colorful obverse coin was either crossed from PCGS to NGC or vice versa. I don't believe there is anything nefarious going on with these listings.

The PCGS coin was listed first, so it appears they just forgot to end the listing once the coin was no longer in that holder.

The question is "Which one would you rather own?"

Yes, and at those prices I think not! I have a really nice AU (50) of this date that looks so much more natural and at a mere fraction of the price...

If the coin actually looks like the photos ... neither.

Wonder what the coin actually looks like in hand? My original question to myself was which would I rather have, a PCGS MS66+ CAC or a NGC67?

And so you are posting this because......

So people like me can see it and wonder where "eye appeal" went when considering a grade. To me, that's some ugly toning and not a coin that I would want. However, the TV makes it look significantly better.

There are thousands of coins online that have toning that appears disparate from in hand viewing or light angle photography.
