    Unless I am missing something, this coin is a nice example of a typical, lightly circulated 1971 S cent but I don't see anything exceptional about it that would make it a rarity. 528,354,192 were minted. There IS a variety of the 1971 S cent minted as "Proof" that is a "double die strike" but from your photos, I can't determine that yours is a "Proof". I don't think so as it is unlikely that you would find one in circulation as they are part of a set.

    As an earlier reply stated, if you like it, keep it. Great start for a Lincoln cent album. You are the collector here. YOU set the standards for your collection!

    When I coin roll hunt (CRH) I have come across a good many of these still in circulation. I'd just start an album or put it aside where you keep coins that are your keepers.
