Did I just find a 1978 D no FG? Finding no references to one...

Pulled from a Loomis roll tonight, not finding any mentioned anywhere.
Don't have a Cherry Pickers guide.
Sure looks like a no FG to me...

Agree, it doesn't look like there is a FG there. The no FG's are because of an abraded die like the 3 legged buffalo, yours appears to be a grease filled die and that may be why you are finding no reference to it. Yours was not missing off the die.
In the first rev pic it looks to be very faintly there. Look very closely at the coin. Any trace of an FG won't qualify.

There does appear to be a trace in the first picture.... Lighting and angles can be deceptive. There is not one listed in the CPG.... may be a grease filled die as suggested above. Cheers, RickO
Appreciate the observations!
But most respectfully, I see NO trace of FG and not seeing any mushyness that may indicate some grease...
Took a couple even sharper pics in the morning sun...

@Kurisu... I suggest you submit it for authentication... and be sure to note the issue on the submission form. Good luck and let us know.... Cheers, RickO
I agree that your coin is a no FG version. I believe the only tpg company that will acknowledge this is ICG. The others gotta have the variety in the cherrypickers guide or else they basically don’t care. Can’t swear that ANACS won’t recognize it, but probably not worth the hassle as icg will 100% definitely do it (I’ve submitted my no fg coins to them with no issues).
@Kurisu "and not seeing any mushyness that may indicate some grease..."
Look at the loss of details in the tail feathers and the arrow feathers.
@Kurisu I see a faint G here

I enlarged this out of the first reverse pic you offered and I feel it is there, just damaged,stained, or corroded.

Well, loving and appreciate the feedback here.
Hmmmmm...ANACS is literally a few minutes away from me lol... Let's have some wholesome fun and find out.
I'm willing to risk the $15
