I'm slowly looking to upgrade some coins in my complete circulated Type 1, S Mint Double Eagle set (complete to me at least, won't be trying for the '66S T1). I was fortunate enough to happen across this coin a short while back. After a somewhat stress inducing voyage in the USPS universe she arrived at home safe and sound today.
I'll admit I paid up for this coin, probably more than some of you would have been willing to go. It doesn't bother me in the least though as I believe when you want to add a great coin to your collection sometimes you have to pony up and be willing to pay more than anyone else to make it happen.
She is replacing a rather average piece in beanless PCGS 35 plastic. This one makes me smile and fits in with her sisters in the collection wonderfully. It's comforting to check off one more coin in the "permanent collection resident" category. I'll admit the gold bean looks neat next to a gold coin. Sorry, I'm horrible at photographing gold...

Very, very nice. I've been shopping for type 1 and 2 DEs recently and it's harder than expected to find attractive coins. This one fits the bill!
