I believe there are 4 different 1900 O/CC VAMS- I would check to see if they are both the same. One could be more difficult than the other. At the time of the PCGS graded example, there was no real attention as to the differences. There might be a compelling reason to keep both of them if they are not the same.

I like the NGC one just a tiny bit more than the PCGS one, mainly because I think the eagles breast feathers look to be better struck. But the rattler slab looks cooler than the NGC slab. 🤔
I agree that both look like excellent examples and I have a hard time picking between them. This variety typically comes quite nice but I would have guessed each of yours to be better than 63.
Thank you for your comments. Originally I was leaning toward keeping the ngc coin because in hand it looks and the strike are better. I think the pcgs coin is graded correctly at ms63 but I question the ngc grade when I compare the two.
However, I love old pcgs green holders from a historical perspective. I know, I know buy the coin not the holder but I am old and sometimes I do things that don’t make sense. That’s why I asked for comments. 🙂
I am torn.
Yes, I could keep both but if I continue on that path where does it stop. 🙂
Maybe I should try and cross the ngc coin to pcgs hoping for a 64. If successful then that makes my decision easier. What does everyone think?

NGC coin looks processed based on the luster in your images. I'll eat my hat if that upgrades to a 4. No offense intended, just not the kind of coin PCGS should be crossing, let alone upgrading.
The rattler is cooler, more original, and in a better TPG holder. It's the clear winner imho. But keep the NGC one and sell me the rattler. lol

Not even close! I'd choose the rattler by a mile. The NGC coin looks polished and/or dipped out. But you should check the VAM variety as some sell for a premium.
The both seem very nice for the grade The reverse is a little weak on the strike for both. If all things appear to be equal in your mind go with the rattler.

Depends on the cost spread between 63, 63+, and 64. If there's enough wiggle room even at 63 to spend money, and if you decide to sell won't lose money, then it may be worth a shot. If you plan to sell one, I'd say hold the cash and just sell one if you really must.
As far as what one? Only you can decide. If you like the cleaner looking one, keep that. If you like the ogh more, sell the other. If you need cash more, probably the ogh will bring a few extra $.
If they were mine (I have one, not slabbed), I would keep the PCGS... I like the look of that better... Of course, in hand, things could change. Cheers, RickO
For the sake of transparency, I ended my career in VAMS about 18 years ago. I thought we had VAMS 7-11 back in the day for the 1900 O/CC. I just did not recall 12 different 18 years ago-My apologies but that does not change my initial answer other than to acknowledge I was wrong on the total number of VAMS for the O/CC that exist today

I love this date variety. So much going on with this over mintmark…
The older pcgs insert is worth keeping just for its originality, but why not both?

They both look high end and quality.

Guessing rattler vam 8; ngc vam 7 or 10?

I remember looking for one of these at the 1971 ANA. I never did buy one.
Agree with the idea of keeping both,...................... But prefer the NGC coin for sure.
Based off those pictures, I like the NGC coin better. Appears to have full luster, whereas the pcgs coin is cloudy and somewhat dull.
There are 12 different O/CC VAMs.
Both coins look outstanding.
I'd keep the PCGS rattler.
The NGC coin looks much better to me. I would keep that one if choosing.

I think the NGC coin is just a little better. That works out nicely for you since the PCGS one will likely sell for more in that holder.

Rattler.

Based on those photos, the PCGS coin appears to have more "original" skin.

The rattler. Both are good in my eyes 👀
Both are nice, like the others have said, I would keep both, but if you must get rid of one I like the rattler better.

Thank you for your comments. I decided to keep the pcgs coin.
Both. But in the end I'd keep the pcgs.

Both are great looking but if I had to make the choice I'd hang on to the PCGS and be happy to still have it.
