New info on the GM Roller Press to come out eventually

Roger B. just copied me some amazing info on how the GM Roller Press worked, from a document that he uncovered in his ongoing research. I always thought that I was one of the mavens when it came to the GM pieces, but this has information I don't think anybody outside GM or the Mint ever knew, including how the pieces were processed after they were struck. I am not at liberty to divulge the new information here, but it will appear in a new book to be entitled "Mine to Mint-2."

Cool - I still own several GM pieces and have collected most (if not all) of the published articles on them.
If some new info has come to light, I am most interested.
Here is one of my pieces because pictures tell a story too.
I worked for GM starting in 1976 but didn't know anything about this project until the late '80's. By then finding people that worked on it was tough.
Looking back at the roller presses, they were extremely complex and each die pair had to be aligned perfectly for things to work. Even these days, that complexity is doomed to be a failure (or at a minimum, a maintenance nightmare).

I am interested in these pieces too and used to keep any info I found on them, including keeping track of the obverse Letter-Number combinations I saw. I am listed in Pollock as a contributor on these GM pieces.
I only have one that I found, believe it or not, in the 1980's in a dealer's junk box for $5. Unfortunately it had been cleaned but it now resides in a small ANACS holder.

Awesome! This is great news! I was just chatting with Roger on the GM Roller Press experiments!

An interesting thing is that a decade ago, you could still find GM Roller Press cents for sale. Lately, I never see them show up for sale.
